Chua to jelajah until after GE13

Chua to jelajah until after GE13

Warm greetings from Chua to night market customers.

GELANG PATAH (March 9, 2013): After seven day-long walkabouts to greet the Chinese community Gong Xi Fa Cai during the recent Chinese New Year festive season, Johor PKR chairman Chua Jui Meng kicked off another election campaign trail today.
“It’s going to be a continuous jelajah to touch base with the rakyat until after the 13th General Election (GE13). I will continue with the walkabouts to meet the rakyat and distribute campaign leaflets.
“The Gong Xi Fa Cai walkabout and distribution of mandarin oranges gave me the opportunity to extend warm handshakes to about 30,000 people.
“There is still much ground to cover in Gelang Patah which has some 106,000 registered voters,” he said.

Chua obliging requests for a photo shoot.

Chua said his target was to win the hearts and minds of Johoreans to help ensure Pakatan Rakyat (PR) “wins big” in this so called Barisan Nasional (BN) bastion state.
“From my walkabouts, the body language of Johoreans had been clear and encouraging for PR.
“From the seven previous walkabouts, the people had been very responsive and displayed clear support to PR.
“However, it will be wrong for us to take such support for granted. Therefore, I will continue to walk and cover as much ground as possible.
“My target is not only for PR to win big, it’s also for PKR to win the lion’s share of the seats in Johor. As an experienced politician, I have to make this happen for the rakyat, specifically for Johoreans,” he added.
In his walkabout in the Taman Ungku Tun Aminah Pasar Malam (night market) from 6.30pm to 10.30pm, the body language of the people towards PKR remained positively strong.
Chua and his Gelang Patah PKR election steering committee members, supporters and members distributed leaflets on current issues afflicting the nation, caused by Barisan Nasional (BN)’s incompetence and corrupt ways.
In the four-hour walkabout, Chua also obliged the request of Johoreans who wanted to be photographed with him and others who wanted to discuss politics.
