JOHOR BARU (Oct 6, 2012): Johor PKR (People’s Juctice Party) chairman Chua Jui Meng held a series of meetings to touch base with the people here yesterday and today.
Besides meeting up with a group of Indian non-governmental organisation (NGO) leaders, he also held small group discussions with friends and supporters.
He also chaired two meetings, lasting four hours from 8pm to midnight, at the Johor PKR head office in Bandar Baru Uda, Tampoi, last night.
The meetings were to fine tune preparations for a premier ceramah (rally) featuring Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim.
The ceramah, titled “Kali Ini Pasti Tukar” (There will surely be change this time), is to be held at the Sutera Mall car park in Skudai at 8pm on Oct 20, 2012.
The target is to attract a 20,000 to 30,000 crowd.
Chua said: “I was pleasantly surprised to hear from the Johor-based Indian NGO leaders, grassroots and ex-MIC leaders  (yesterday) that 70% of Indians are prepared to support PR for change. I was pleasantly surprised because I had appealed to them to try and secure about 50% support for Pakatan Rakyat PR).
Friends and supporters sharing their views on the political scenario in Johor with Chua (not in pic) at a dinner discussion.

“They told me that I am wrong. They say the Indians in the estates have already been uprooted and most of them are now in the towns.
“They say the Indians in Johor, just like the Chinese, have realised the need for change and that PKR can expect 70% Indian support.”
Chua, who is also PKR vice-president, said if their assessment was accurate, “there is surely hope for PR, specifically Johoreans, to lead Malaysians towards a progressive change.
Chua also spoke at two ceramah in Taman Puteri Wangsa and Taman Saujana in Plentong tonight.
