PR supporters to march to nomination
centre via Jalan Abdullah
SEGAMAT (April 19, 2013): Pakatan Rakyat
(PR) supporters and campaigners will have to march to Dewan Jubli Intan Sultan
Ibrahim via Jalan Abdullah on Nomination Day tomorrow.
The
Dewan is the nomination centre for the P.140 Segamat 13th General
Election. Polling is on May 5.
The
route was fixed by police yesterday.
Johor
PKR chairman Chua Jui Meng is scheduled to be at the Dewan at 7.30am. The Election
Commission (EC) has fixed only an hour (9am to 10am) for the nomination of at
least six candidates, in the absence of Independents.
EC’s
returning officer is expected to announce the confirmation of candidates at
11am.
Chua
has appealed to the people of Segamat to turn up at the Dewan to support PR
candidates.
“The
people must not be intimidated and we are now fighting as underdogs because of
BN’s abuse of the government machinery.
“Please
come out in full force to send a message to the BN that the people is the boss
and it is BN that should fear the people,” he added.
